Cost of Living Comparison (region of mount Parnassos, Central Greece, within the home country)

Although, we do not have any specific data on this issue, I attach some information available on the internet which compares the cost of living in Greece to that of the UK.   In general, we can state that costs are significantly lower in the regions outside of Athens, and particularly rural Central Greece, as with many other countries the rural economy is operating at different levels than that of the capital, Athens.  Kindly, consult the information retrieved from www.numbeo.com in Attachment 02.

4.1 Building permits

The site already has a few buildings (as you can see in the following link http://www.ktimavakakis.com/index.php/existing-structures), legally built, which are currently used by our family.  Should our site be selected for the construction of your “village” building permits are easily and efficiently attainable.  As a matter of fact, just a couple of months ago, a new law came into force facilitating and promoting “private urbanization”.  The legal and institutional framework for developers to acquire and develop large plots of land has been facilitated and reviewed, promoting thus the interest of foreign developers who wish to invest on Greek soil.  Moreover, a recent law also foresees the automatic issuance of at least 5-year residence permit to those who decide to own Greek lots.  Therefore, we do not foresee any legalistic/bureaucratic problem to develop the concept of the Inter Civil Society, especially given the recent favorable legal framework.  Besides the local authorities are more than happy to see development in their area, which inevitably will bring about employment to a large (mostly young currently unemployed) part of their population. Finally, the particular local community leaders (most of them of the 30-50 years of age group), with whom we maintain sound contacts, are very open minded and positive towards developing new ideas and initiatives, which will only benefit their local development and keep the young tied to their region, through a sustainable employment opportunity.

4.2 Not fragmented

This property, with a total area of 108 m2 is one lot, it is not fragmented and is already fenced. The shape of the lot can be seen in the following link http://www.ktimavakakis.com.xelixis.net/index.php/land-for-sale-parnassos-area Kindly note, that should there be further interest; this area is expandable, as it is surrounded by farm lands, the owners of which would seriously consider seeling.

4.3 Ownership structure of the site

The site is 100% owned by our family (mother and 2 children).  We are all in life and in total agreement to proceed with the transfer of ownership.  I am representing them and any decision can be taken efficiently with the highest degree of flexibility, since we are all in agreement.
